Love the title of this post. Makes me think of three characters in a play. Timber is always falling over, Rust can't sleep.... and Shrub? Maybe he never grows up.
I am a fool for rusty metal objects. I love the texture. Last week, flying over the Rockies, the aspen trees were all a glorious shade of yellow. From 30k feet, they looked like fungal bursts in a microscopic view.
Heh, yep three guys Rust, Timber and Bush walk into a bar.......
There's an Aussie artist called John Olsen who does landscapes from above like you describe. Due to the nature of them, you wonder if you're looking at a landscape or another random fractal piece of nature such as a mould colony growing in a petrie dish!
"I encourage you to visit his blog, The Open Mind, where he will regale you with pictures of parrots and tales of obscure COINTELPRO activities."
