Johnno, have you gotten into Iranian cinema? Whenever I see the life on Tehran streets, as portrayed in films, I can only wonder how my feller 'mercans can even think for a moment... (West LA has a huge Iranian community). Just a couple of weeks ago, I enjoyed Kiarostami's The Wind Will Carry Us

OB: Yes. I found the landscape and scenery completely at odds with what I expected. Although this first occurred when I saw a news story with a fire in Iran some months ago. Several brand new European fire engines parked outside some fairly normal looking apartments.
Pete: I think I've seen a couple but will try to check out more, I saw Cherry Tree some time back. There's a reasonable "Persian" community here too.
And yeah why would anyone want to bomb that/them? More organized theft perhaps?
That guy with his father look like a pair of rather likeable fellows.
